Welcome to your seventh year of Faith Formation! Level 7 is the second of a two-year preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Children must complete Level 6 before entering Level 7.
Confirmation takes place in the fall of 8th grade.
During this year, children will focus on the Sacrament of Confirmation. Being Catholic isn't just a religion box we check or just one of many attributes that makes up a person. It's our identity in Christ that grounds us in our earthly mission: to get to Heaven and to bring as many people as we can with us! The Gifts of the Holy Spirit received in Confirmation help to do just that. This Sacrament isn't graduation or a completion, but rather, the very beginning of a new phase of our relationship with the Lord and His Holy Catholic Church.
All classes will take place in our Parish Hall, times and dates TBD. All classes will be conducted by a trained and Virtus certified catechist. Classes will take place every other week and will be for one hour.
Textbooks and materials will be provided to all registered children and will be given out at our Parent/student meetings in September or October. All schedules will be emailed after registration ends on August 31st, 2026.
Our Level 7 Program includes the following:
Mass
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. It is the very center and essence of our relationship with God. Jesus said that “Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." (John 6:53) When we miss Mass, we spiritually starve ourselves. Therefore, Mass attendance each Sunday is required.
Each student will be given a "God Pass" ticket which needs to be place in the collection basket at mass time.
visions: Pflaum gospel weeklies
Visions is an extension of what Level 6 learned in the Venture series. Every week, students will be presented with the gospel for the upcoming Sunday. They will discuss the scripture and be prepared to attend mass with an understanding of the Word ahead of time. They will also participate in "Daily Dilemmas" where they will openly discuss common issues being faced in Middle School and High School. This type of class is less of a classroom setting and more of a discussion group. Each student will be expected to participate in the discussion.
Community service
Each student will be required to submit 8 hours of community service. There are plenty of opportunities at St. Elizabeth's to help out. Look for emails or check our website for community service opportunities.
prayer service
All students are required to attend a Prayer Service which will take place in January/February. Dates TBD
Saint Report
All students will be required to complete a final, written Saint Report on the Saint they chose for Confirmation. Workshops will be available, dates TBD
Sponsor information
Every Confirmation student will need to ask someone to be their sponsor for Confirmation. This is an honor for the person chosen. A Confirmation sponsor need to be at least 16 years of age, has received the sacrament of Confirmation and is in good standing with the church. Forms and instructions will be included in your child's folder.
retreat
Every Confirmation student will need to attend a retreat. This is usually a 3-hour retreat on a weekday evening or Saturday - nothing overnight. Dates TBD
