"Comfort, give comfort to my people, says our God."
~Isaiah 40:1
To offer consolation is one of the most important ways to care. Life is so full of pain, sadness and loneliness that we often wonder what we can can do to alleviate the immense suffering we see. We can and must offer consolation. To console does not mean to take away the pain, but rather to be there and say, "You are not alone, I am with you." We all need to give consolation as well as to receive it.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton offers comfort to those who mourn through our Ministry of Consolation. Members help guide recently bereaved families through the planning and celebration of the funeral Mass for their loved one. Others serve as greeters at the Mass and still others offer to bake cakes and deliver them to the homes of the next of kin. Volunteers in the Ministry of Consolation are known for their compassion and we are grateful for their service to our faith community.
