Welcome to your fourth year of Faith Formation!
During this year, children will focus on the celebration of the Mass. We will explore how God comes to us personally and individually in the Sacrifice of the Mass and we will uncover exactly what that means and how we participate in it!
Our Level 4 Program includes the following:
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. It is the very center and essence of our relationship with God. Jesus said that “Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." (John 6:53) When we miss Mass, we spiritually starve ourselves. Therefore, Mass attendance each Sunday is required.
The Mass is the greatest prayer we can pray! (Yes, we are supposed to PRAY the Mass!) But how do we do it? What do all the different parts of the Mass mean? Why do we sit and stand and kneel and stand again?
This year, our in person classes will uncover more about this beautiful prayer and the mysteries it contains. We will watch videos, play games, explore the church and learn everything there is to know about what we do each Sunday.
Our class dates are on Thursdays from 4:30pm to 5:45pm. They are as follows:
October 12th, 2023
November 9th, 2023
December 7th, 2023
January 25th, 2024
February 8th, 2024
March 14th, 2024
(dates are subject to change)
Over the next two years, Brother Francis will lead us through the Adventure Catechism, a series that answers the big questions about our faith from "Who is God?" to "What are the Virtues?" These lessons will be completed at home.
Each month, Level 4 students will meet a new hero or heroes of our Catholic faith in the Saints and Heroes Collection. Saints are people just like us. They lived, struggled, and most importantly, loved God above everything else. Learning about the lives of the saints give us inspiration and hope that we too can glorify God in our lives. These videos can be found on Formed.org. This assignment will be completed at home.
Each level consists of an at home biblical element. Saint Jermone says that, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ." Each month, your child will dive into the Gospel and read an interaction that Jesus has with a person or a group of people to better understand who He is, what His message is, and how people responded to Him. This assignment will be completed at home.
