Welcome to your fourth year of Faith Formation!
During this year, children will focus on the God's Plan for Us in Scripture. God has an amazing plan for each of us, but sin messed up that plan. That is exactly why He promised us a Savior! But that's big jump: from first original sin to the salvation of humanity by Jesus on the cross and His triumphant Resurrection. Over the next three years, we will explore how God's Salvation Plan unfolded in history in the most amazing and unexpected ways and how we still participate in that plan through the Catholic Church today!
Our Level 4 Program includes the following:
The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. It is the very center and essence of our relationship with God. Jesus said that “Very truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you." (John 6:53) When we miss Mass, we spiritually starve ourselves. Therefore, Mass attendance each Sunday is required.
God’s Plan in Scripture (GPS) is a twenty-four-lesson parish and school program designed to take children on an amazing journey through the story of salvation. (The adult Great Adventure Bible Timeline® revolutionized Bible studies by dividing the Bible into twelve color-coded time periods that make it easier to follow its narrative thread.)
We will explore this program over a three year period. This year, we will dive into the next five biblical periods: Conquests & Judges, Royal Kingdom, Divided Kingdom, Exile, and Return.
Our class dates are on Wednedays from 4:30pm to 5:45pm. They are as follows:
October 9th, 2024 (BOOK PICK UP ONLY)Over the next two years, Brother Francis will continue to lead us through the Adventure Catechism, a series that answers the big questions about our faith from "Who is God?" to "What are the Virtues?" These lessons will be completed at home.
Set in the 23rd century, the kids (Chris and Joy) and the robot (Gizmo) uncover the secrets of Superbook through a mysterious portal to the past, traveling back in Biblical times from the Old Testament and New Testament eras. As we learn about the different biblical eras and their stories in class, students will watch them come alive each month to better understand the stories. These videos can be found on the Superbook website, Superbook app, or on Youtube. This assignment will be completed at home.
Each level consists of an at home biblical element that coincides with the lessons they are learning in the classroom. Saint Jermone says that, "Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ." Each month, your child will learn a new piece of our biblical story of salvation so they can grow in God's Love. This assignment will be completed at home.
